If you catch a bullet or a splinter they immediately start screaming soon-bellieri-the-plasma, if you break a leg they plaster it, if you have an inflamed throat they give you medicine. If your heart is broken and you’re so desperate that you can’t open your mouth, instead, they don’t even realise it. Yet the pain of the soul is a much more serious disease than the broken leg and the inflamed throat, its wounds are much deeper and more dangerous than those caused by a bullet or a splinter. They are wounds that do not heal, those, wounds that at every excuse begin to bleed again.»
